More than a thousand of the toys placed at Royal residences will now be given to Barnardo’s children’s charity, of which the Queen was patron.
Buckingham Palace marked the donation with this photo of the Queen Consort taken on Thursday, the 64th anniversary of the first Paddington bear book. Queen Elizabeth passed the patronage of Barnardo’s to Camilla in 2016, so it is apt the King’s wife accepts the bears on behalf of the charity.
