Akal Takht orders Badal to clean bathrooms of Gurdwara

Sri Akal Takht, the supreme temporal authority of Sikhs, has directed former Punjab deputy chief minister Sukhbir Singh Badal to undertake cleaning duties in the kitchen and bathrooms of a Gurdwara as penance for his role in the "sacrilege" case of 2015.

The decision stems from Badal's support for Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim, linked to the alleged sacrilege of the Guru Granth Sahib. Sukhbir Badal's resignation is accepted and SAD is ordered to perform President election within six months.
