Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised the film for revealing the truth to the public, stating, "It is good that this truth is coming out, and that too in a way common people can see it."
"A fake narrative can persist only for a limited period of time. Eventually, the facts will always come out!," Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised the film 'The Sabarmati Report' on Sunday, saying the "truth is coming out".
Released on November 15, 2024, "The Sabarmati Report" is a Hindi-language drama thriller that delves into the controversial Godhra train burning incident of 2002. Directed by Dheeraj Sarna and featuring Vikrant Massey, Raashi Khanna, and Riddhi Dogra, the film aims to shed light on the complexities surrounding this pivotal event in Indian history.
On February 27, 2002, the Sabarmati Express, carrying Hindu pilgrims returning from Ayodhya, was set ablaze near the Godhra railway station in Gujarat. The fire resulted in the tragic deaths of 59 passengers, including women and children. This incident ignited widespread communal riots across Gujarat, leading to significant loss of life and property.
"The Sabarmati Report" portrays the journey of Samar Kumar (Vikrant Massey), a dedicated journalist determined to uncover the truth behind the Godhra incident. Alongside Amrita Gill (Raashii Khanna) and Manika Rajpurohit (Riddhi Dogra), the narrative explores the challenges journalists face in their quest for truth amidst political and social turmoil.
The film caught the attention of political figures, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who praised its efforts to bring forth the truth. In a social media post, PM Modi stated, "It is good that this truth is coming out, and that too in a way common people can see it." Vikrant Massey expressed gratitude for the Prime Minister's acknowledgement, stating, "Thank you, Hon.
