In response to a complaint filed by a local group demanding "improved healthcare facilities" at M A Podar Ayurvedic Hospital in Worli, the authorities have submitted a proposal to the government for establishing a 30-bed intensive care unit (ICU) based on the allopathic system.
The establishment of the ICU will take one-and-a-half to two years, said the affidavit filed on September 5 by the medical education and drugs department.
Shwetambari Khade, the deputy secretary, assured to expedite the process.
The proposal, submitted on July 10, continues to await the government's nod.
