BRS WORKED FOR VICTORY OF BJP IN LOK SABHA POLLS: CM REVANTH

Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has alleged that the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) party has fielded weak candidates in the Telangana Lok Sabha elections and worked for the victory of Bharatiya Janata Party ( BJP), indirectly causing to defeat the Congress candidates.

Speaking at a press conference at his residence here on Wednesday, the Chief Minister had accused BRS president K Chandrashekar Rao of entering a tacit understanding with the BJP and said that KCR had committed a political suicide by transferring his party votes to the saffron party.

"The BRS party, which got 37.5 percent votes in the Assembly elections, fell to 16.5 percent in the Lok Sabha polls. It has lost deposits in seven Lok Sabha segments where the BJP candidates emerged victorious in Telangana. Under the Medak Lok Sabha segment, former minister Harish Rao has completely transferred his party votes to BJP candidate Raghunandan Rao from Siddipet Assembly constituency. Congress candidate Neelam Madhu was defeated due to transfer of votes from the BRS to the BJP," Revanth Reddy pointed out.
