The Mohali police registered an FIR against Kaur under IPC Sections 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) and 341 (wrongfully restraining any person), following a complaint by CISF. Despite the bailable nature of the sections, Kaur has not yet been arrested.
The incident, which occurred around 3pm ahead of Kangana's flight to Delhi, delayed the flight by about an hour. Kangana linked the assault to "extremism and terrorism in Punjab" on social media, while Kaur, in a video, expressed her anger over Ranaut's remarks about women protesters being hired for Rs100.
Kaur, suspended immediately after the incident, is also under CISF inquiry.
Farmers' unions, including the Sanyukt Kisan Morcha (non-political) and Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh Committee, announced their support for Kaur.
