It is said that the criminals were involved in 80 cases in Delhi, Madhya Pradesh and other states.
According to the Delhi police, the duo's location was found in Madipur.
Multiple teams were formed to cover all possible exit routes in the area before the encounter.
The suspects were seen around 4.30 am.
They reportedly opened fire when the police asked them to stop, hitting bulletproof jackets of some police personnel though no one was injured.
The accused sustained gunshots on their legs in counter firing by the police.
