According to a UP police official, Nisha Singhania and her son Anurag alias Piyush Singhania left their home in Khowa Mandi area on a motorcycle around 1 am and have not returned since. Purported video footage circulating on social media showed the two leaving their residence late at night.
The UP police were yet to receive any communication from their Karnataka counterparts. "We have not received any official communication from Bengaluru Police regarding this case," said Jaunpur Superintendent of Police Ajaypal Sharma.
He added that a routine police deployment was in place in the Khowa Mandi area for law and order purposes.
