In a swift crackdown, the Prayagraj cyber police registered cases against four fraudulent websites on Friday and shut them down.
Deputy Inspector of Cyber Cell Vinod Kumar Yadav revealed that these fake platforms advertised premium hotel stays, tent bookings, and cottages to extort money from unsuspecting pilgrims. "These sites are exploiting people's faith and excitement for the Maha Kumbh, offering bogus deals to steal their money," Yadav said.
