MUMBAI MESMERISED

As the clouds gathered on Marine Drive, challenging the undeterred masses with monsoon rains, the message was clear it was a celebration of resilience, of dreams realised, and of a legacy that would inspire generations to come.

The victory parade was a farewell to an era, an era marked by the brilliance of Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Rahul Dravid, an era that saw Indian cricket rise to unprecedented heights.

A Cup was lifted after 17 years, three great journeys came to a tearful end, the young ones flowered, a "smart team" was born and all challenges overrun with sheer dint of determination - Sharma has brought a memorable trophy home - a trophy brimming with impossibilities, joys and a history that was carefully crafted more than destined.

The night of June 29, 2024, will be etched in golden letters in the annals of Indian cricket. The victory was more than just a triumph on the field. It was a poignant farewell to three greats of the game - Sharma, Kohli, and head coach David who bid adieu to the sport they dedicated their lives to in a manner befitting the heroes they are.
