“The National Democratic Alliance government will focus on good governance, development and minimum interference in the lives of citizens in the next 10 years,” Prime Minister designate Narendra Modi said on Friday, as he sought to allay concerns about the stability of the next government and also about its agenda.
“Mutual trust is at the core of this alliance,” which is the most successful one in India’s history, Modi said, adding that his government’s aim would be to “reach unanimity in all our decisions”.
NDA stands for “New India, Developed India, and Aspirational India”, Modi said at the old Parliament building at a meeting of the newly-elected NDA MPs.
“The opposition tried to paint the 2024 Lok Sabha election results as loss for us but the people of our country know we did not lose. I see it as a grand victory for the NDA,” Modi said, sending out a message to his detractors.
