Argyle have decisions to make ahead of busy transfer window

THE January transfer window opens in a fortnight and all the indications are that it will be a busy time for Plymouth Argyle because of the pressing need to strengthen Wayne Rooney's squad in the bid to ensure Championship survival.

Rooney will also be hoping for the successful return of injuries of four players next month, with Ibrahim Cissoko and Muhamed Tijani likely to be the first to return in early January, followed later on by Joe Edwards and Morgan Whittaker. The Pilgrims' boss has already stated they will be like 'new signings! However, before the transfer window even begins, Argyle are going to have to make decisions about the futures of three of their players striker Andre Gray, goalkeeper Marko Marosi and midfielder Will Jenkins Davies.

Gray and Marosi both have shortterm contracts which end next month after joining Argyle as free agents earlier in the season, while the loan of 20-year-old Jenkins Davies to Torquay United ends on January 2.

Marosi, 31, was brought in as goalkeeping cover in early September after an ankle injury to Conor Hazard and was on the bench for 14 successive Championship matches as the back up to Dan Grimshaw.

However, Hazard has now returned to fitness and has been Argyle's substitute 'keeper for the last couple of games so Marosi has not even been in the matchday squad.
