History favours Pilgrims in their FA Cup encounter

There are currently 33 places in the English football pyramid separating Brentford, who are eighth in the top flight under their Danish boss Thomas Frank, and Wayne Rooney's Pilgrims in 21st position in the Championship. So the Bees will be hot favourites to win the tie at the Gtech Community Stadium, which will take place between January 9-13.

However, Argyle have an unbeaten record of winning six and drawing three of Herald their previous nine FA Cup clashes against Brentford, the first two of which came in December 1903. Both clubs were then in the Southern League and the Pilgrims drew O-O away before winning a first round replay 4-1 at home.
