While The Drum has long been the home to smaller and experimental shows and more intimate performances, bosses at TRP this week relaunched the 120-capacity venue by unveiling a full season of shows for the first time.
A multi-buy ticket offer is also available for all of the 12 shows which are now on sale, with TRP managers hoping that people who book in for blockbuster shows in the 1,300-capacity Lyric may be tempted to also take in a show in The Drum.
The collection of 12 shows are diverse in their nature but linked by the theme of the 'unseen and unheard, according to Associated Director Tom Jackson Greaves, who has had a key role in commissioning productions for the shows, which go from January to June.
Mr Jackson Greaves said that rather than a full rebrand of The Drum, the idea was to celebrate more of what was on offer and try and lure in more audiences, whether they are fans of dance, comedy, opera or first-time visitors such as younger children.
