There are many reasons why Donald Trump might have won the election last week.
Liberals didn't notice they'd lost relevance in the all-consuming digital sphere

The American public felt under-served by the Democratic Party- their inability to tame inflation and their woke rhetoric. Mainstream voters were more concerned with immigration and the economy than abstract ideas like "freedom". Sexism; racism; foreign influence; Elon Musk (tweets by the Tesla chief have generated more than two billion views this year). The list goes on.

As the night unfolded, the chattering classes worried about the possibility of another January 6-style insurrection, should Trump lose, then began instead to worry about the very real possibility that he might win not just the electoral college but the popular vote, too.
