Lakhma and his son Harish, who appeared before the ED for the third time, were arrested by the ED and produced before the court under high security. He was to visit along with his chartered accountant, but the Congress leader arrived alone.

The ED sought a 14-day remand, but the court granted only seven days. It is the first arrest of a cabinet-rank minister of the former Bhupesh Baghel government.
