WITH the rift between state BJP president BY Vijayendra and party MLA Basanagouda Patil Yatnal out in the open, the saffron party’s Central Disciplinary Committee has issued a show-cause notice to the latter asking him to reply within 10 days.
Yatnal, a former union minister, continued his tirade against the state leadership saying that he is against Vijayendra’s “adjustment politics”. Vijayendra hit back by saying that it is up to the legislator to reply to the notice.
The show-cause notice has been served after Vijayendra’s recent visit to New Delhi where he met party seniors.
The notice issued by committee member secretary Om Pathak stated it is a matter of great concern that despite having been issued showcause notice several times in the past and his (Yatnal) assurances of good conduct, the acts of indiscipline continued unabated. “Given your seniority and long-standing in the party, the committee took a lenient view on the explanation submitted by you in the past,” it read.
