Gen-AI to fetch $359-438 bn to GDP by FY30

THE country has everything going on its way to reap maximum out of the fast-evolving technologies such as generative AI, which can add $359-438 billion to national economy by FY30 by unlocking new growth avenues and by optimising existing ones with digital public infrastructure, coupled with the energy of India's burgeoning youth, RBI deputy governor Michael Patra said on Wednesday.

Forecasts suggest generative AI is projected to boost global GDP by $7-10 trillion over next three years. Large language models alone are expected to enhance worker productivity by 8-36%, he added.
