A team effort

ONE are the days when we simply relied on doctors for every health concern. Now, for everything from figuring out a weird symptom to ordering medicine, our first instinct is often to 'Google it' or turn to AI tools like Siri, Alexa, or chatbots. But as these tools get smarter and more popular, one question always rings in our minds - Can AI really replace your doctor? To explore this, CE reached out to experts to understand how reliable AI is in healthcare and whether it can truly be trusted in emergencies.

AI plays a major role in healthcare now, offering solutions for almost every medical need. Dr Manjula Angani, Clinical Director and Head of CARE Vatsalya - Women and Child Institute at CARE Hospitals, said, "AI tools and apps for healthcare are more popular than ever. These tools can analyze symptoms, suggest possible illnesses, recommend medicines, and offer general advice. They're convenient, especially when a doctor isn't immediately available."

However, as more people use AI tools available online for health advice or to order medicines, it's important to ask - How safe and reliable is AI for healthcare?
