After Alipore Zoo detour, tigress Zeenat to be relocated to Odisha

THE process of relocating tigress Zeenat back to Odisha has resumed following a reprimand from the National Tiger Conservation Authority to the West Bengal forest department.

Zeenat, who was captured in Bankura after a three-week multi-state search, was initially taken to Kolkata's Alipore Zoo, a move that the NTCA deemed a violation of standard operating procedures. Odisha's PCCF Wildlife, Prem Kumar Jha, confirmed that Zeenat is in good health and is expected to reach Similipal Tiger Reserve (STR) by midnight.
