Khandre announced it in assembly; it will help minimise jumbo menace

FINALLY, good news for the people who have been frustrated with elephant menace for decades. The state government decided to establish an Elephant Soft Release Centre, also known as Elephant Vihar Dham, in Sakleshpur taluk of Hassan district on the lines of Sri Lanka to minimise the human-animal conflict and to curb the elephant menace.

The people living in villages adjacent to the forest areas may heave a sigh of relief in future as the government decided to resolve the decade-old issue.
