Based on a complaint, the Lokayukta police registered a case on December 26, 2024, under the Prevention of Corruption Act and IPC, and conducted searches.According to a statement from the Lokayukta office, the complainant alleged that money was misused by creating fake sale deeds in the name of beneficiaries, who were poor landless women from agricultural families, between 2014 and 2018.A team of officials conducted searches for five days from December 30 on the premises of eight officials of the corporation, including former manager Renuka Satarle, former district manager S G Hadapada, former taluk development officer S S Managiri, and the district manager and managing director.The investigation, conducted following the directions of Lokayukta Justice B S Patil, revealed that the accused officials violated the norms of allotment of lands, fabricated documents in the name of women to show that they were allotted land by the corporation when in fact they had purchased it on their own.It was also found that the accused officials allotted lands to ineligible persons and to people from the same family.The investigation revealed that 23 files of the corporation, from 2012 to 2018, were missing and fake sale deeds, registration and stamp duty receipts were found in 33 files, which resulted in the loss of Rs 16.84 crore to the state's exchequer.
