TRAGIC FINLEY STAFF BOASTED 'KIDS ARE SAFE'

THE council bosses in charge of looking out for tragic tot Finley Boden boasted that "children are safe", just days before he was beaten to death.

Staff at Derby and Derbyshire Safeguarding Children Partnership praised themselves during a conference in December 2020.

The same month, 10-month-old Finley was murdered by his parents Shannon Marsden, 22, and Stephen Boden, 30.

The infant suffered catastrophic injuries including 57 breaks to his bones, 71 bruises and two burns.

A report last week found a string of errors by social workers whose boss had a salary of almost £130,000.
