Wildfires Force Cancellation Of Concerts, Grammy Parties

The music industry is pressing pause. Amid rampant wildfires in Los Angeles, postponements and cancellations are piling up in the music world. Universal Music Group, Sony Music and Warner Music Group-the world's three largest recorded-music companies-canceled their Grammys-related parties in the run-up to the Feb. 2 ceremony at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.

Smaller confabs are pushing back, too: The Resonator Awards, which acknowledges women in music production and engineering and was scheduled for Jan. 28, has been postponed by its organizers. The Grammy Awards themselves, however, are proceeding as scheduled.

The Weeknd on Monday canceled his Jan. 25 stadium show at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, Calif. Beyoncé followed overnight by postponing a highly anticipated Jan. 14 surprise announcement. Other artists have delayed coming singles or albums. At the same time, music mogul Irving Azoff, in tandem with concert-promotion giants Live Nation Entertainment and AEG Presents, has announced FireAid, a benefit concert at L.A. 's Intuit Dome scheduled for Jan. 30. (A lineup has yet to be announced.)
