EXPLORING THE WORLD FROM ABOVE

How did you get started in drone photography and what inspired you to capture diverse locations such as India, Iceland, and Norway?

Drone cameras were getting popular around 2016 in India. I was very curious to try the flying cameras. I was so fascinated by all the aerial images in the social media. It was so tempting and that's how I got my first drone, phantom 4.

About travelling, I believe each place is different and offers a plethora of photographic opportunities. There is so much to experience in this world - northern lights, midnight sun, glaciers, volcanoes, backwaters and much more. I want to explore as much as I can and share them through my photographs. It is this endless exploration that fuells my passion.

Could you share a particular interaction or moment from your travels that deeply impacted you and reshaped your perspective as a drone photographer?

So, this happened during the pandemic days. Travelling was out of the question in those days, and I was getting bored at home. Finally, I decided to spend an evening at the backwaters near my house. I have visited this place several times before; it used to be a hangout place in the beginning of my photography journey. So, there was practically nothing new to capture in my camera. However, since I had never flown a drone there, I decided to try my luck.

It was the usual scene, with a clear sky and ducks swimming in the waters. I didn't have many expectations, but I was literally shocked by the view on my controller. There was this group of ducks swimming in a line towards the mangrove tree, as if they were seeking shelter in the mangroves. The whole scene looked like a balloon and its thread. I had never seen that unique perspective of that and that's how 'Duck Tales' happened.
