Can you take us through your journey as a photographer and DOP, from the early days to where you are now? What inspired you to pursue a career in this genre?
My first camera was a Nikon FM10 film SLR, and this was my very first opportunity to understand the sense of framing and composition, I used to take it out around the lanes of Kolkata, capturing a lot of street and its people. Experimenting with various shutter speed and aperture, and how to use them efficiently was my first efforts to fulfilling my dream to capture the world. I also travelled around India, carrying my Canon 7D and shot quite a few long exposure shots and playing around with other techniques in order to incorporate my creativity into every shot I was capturing. I was a street and a landscape photographer mainly when I started out, then I happen to get into a fashion college and being gaining knowledge about fashion and fashion photography, my interest grew and I started out shooting for mates’ and senior’s fashion projects in college.
