XIAOMI 13 PRO VS IPHONE 14 PRO MAX CAMERA TEST
Asian Photography|July 2023
The Xiaomi 13 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max are two flagship smartphones with impressive camera features. While the iPhone Pro series is known for its exceptional camera capabilities, it comes with a hefty price tag, starting at ₹1,39,900 whereas the 13 Pro is available at ₹79,999. In this review, we will extensively test the cameras of these two devices to determine their performance and differences.
XIAOMI 13 PRO VS IPHONE 14 PRO MAX CAMERA TEST

Camera Specifications

The iPhone 14 Pro Max features a 3-camera setup, while the Xiaomi 13 Pro also incorporates a similar setup. However, there is a significant difference in the ideology behind their camera configurations.

Front Cameras

The iPhone 14 Pro Max has a 12-megapixel front camera, while the Xiaomi 13 Pro sports a 32-megapixel front camera.

Daylight Main Camera

In daylight conditions, both cameras deliver good results with sharpness, detail, and crispness. The iPhone exhibits better contrast and more accurate representation of the actual scene, while the Xiaomi tends to brighten the images beyond the original scene. Zooming in reveals that both phones maintain good sharpness.

However, when it comes to capturing colours, the Xiaomi tends to oversaturate, resulting in slightly darker red tones in the images. On the other hand, the iPhone accurately captures colours, which has always been one of its strengths. The iPhone also outperforms the Xiaomi in terms of contrast, shadows, and highlights.

Daylight Ultra-Wide Camera

Similar to the main camera, the ultra-wide category shows comparable results between the two phones. The images are sharp, but the Xiaomi tends to saturate the pictures for a more visually appealing effect. The preference for this saturation level is subjective and depends on the user.
