Chennai Super Kings will be keen to make their presence felt in the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 season. CSK made a headline purchase of England allrounder Ben Stokes in the 2023 auction for a staggering 16.25 crore. His all-round attributes and killer attitude could work well for the MS Dhoni-led side. Stokes is that match-winner CSK needed. New Zealand’s Kyle Jamieson is another quality international roped in. He had earlier played for RCB. CSK have the desired experience in batting, with quality names on the list. Also, their spin-bowling options look settled as ever. The presence of allrounders hands them good balance. After a disappointing IPL 2022 season, IPL 2021 winners CSK will look for good fortunes under the veteran MSD. It will be a key season for Dhoni, who must show his attributes with the bat, having retired years ago from international cricket. His wisdom and leadership brilliance will be key factors. CSK can make Chennai a fortress and take things from there. Players like Devon Conway and Ruturaj Gaikwad hold the cards in batting. Ravindra Jadeja needs to have a defining season after a poor campaign in 2022. One major positive news is the availability of Deepak Chahar. CSK are four-time IPL winners and have the pedigree.
