Rob Scott, one of the star riders on the now-defunct AT85 Pro Cycling squad, has found himself a home for next season on foreign soil, after being unable to find a place on any British squads for the remainder of the current season.
AT85’s sudden demise in March due to “financial uncertainty” left many riders without a ride for the current campaign, although both Scott and Jim Brown have managed to grab last-minute spots with French outfit Cross Team Legendre.
Founded as a cyclo-cross team, Legendre – headed up by Steve Chainel – are expanding to the road in the months ahead, and saw Scott as an ideal signing to kick-start their new direction.
Speaking to Cycling Weekly, Scott explained that it was a relief to have a contract inked after recent events had left him feeling like his future seemed “up in the air”.
“They’re classified as a Pro-Cross team, so it’s kind of different to the classic road Conti, and Pro-Continental set-ups,” Scott said of his new squad. “They still get invited to some good races. They told me that they’re looking to build on some success they had on the road. They’re quite a well-established cross team.
