WHAT a delight it was for all of us to have King Charles visit us recently here at Newmarket when W he came to see the horses he has in training here at HQ. Sir Michael Stoute, William Haggas, Sir Mark Prescott and John and Thady Gosden gave the King a tour of their yards and he looked to enjoy it all very much.
King Charles has two very classy looking fillies in training with Sir Mark at Heath House but Sir Mark told me he fully intends taking his time with both of them and neither will see the track till the end of the season.
Having seen both out on the gallops I can tell you each of them will be winning races as they show a deal of natural ability.
Big plans are afoot at Chelmsford City Racecourse as they are planning a new £70 million grandstand along with other improvements to all the facilities. It will, when done, provide excellent viewing of the whole of the track and spectators will enjoy the racing there even more. Our trainers and owners will support the project to the full and see they take some of their best horses to race there.
I hope you like this photo of me racing at Chelmsford City, I love it there and plan many visits during the coming months.
Trainer Roger Varian is bringing filly MODAARA along very well at present despite the cold wet spring.
