Twelve months ago, the former Newcastle goalkeeper reluctantly took charge at Gateshead after Williamson, who had or chestrated promotion from National League North and implemented an attractive possession-centric style, was lured to Stadium MK.
The Tynesiders eventually reached the play-off plac es, and Elliot who left Gateshead fifth in the National League believes that experience will prove beneficial now.
