Goals from Omar Sowunmi and Michael Cheek’s penalty gave Woodman’s side the victory with a result that saw Morecambe drop to the foot of League Two and still looking for a first home league win this season.
Woodman said: “We have a really solid group of lads who are honest and give everything and I am super proud of them today.
“I thought it was an excellent performance. We played the conditions really well. We were solid at the back and I can’t remember our goalkeeper making a save. Morecambe had a little spell on top in the second half but we just sat in tight and went again and if we play like that no team will live with us.
