Folkestone Invicta season ticket holder Josh Carter and his 14-year-old son Evan have set off on a round-by-round tour of English football grounds by following the winning team of each FA Cup game they attend.
Their season-long journey began at their regular haunt, Invicta’s Cheriton Road, for the all-Kent in the first qualifying round tie with Ramsgate at the end of August.
But after the hosts were stunned 3-1, the intrepid duo were, slightly reluctantly, on the Rams’ bandwagon.
Next up was a trip to the Ramsgate’s Southwood Stadium for the second qualifying round visit of Broadbridge Heath where TT Walters’ brilliant second-half free-kick earned a 1-0 win and a trip to National League North club Brackley Town in the next round.
That, however, was where the Rams’ run ended as the Saints rallied to a 4-1 win, meaning they were the focus for the fourth qualifying round – and a long haul up to Hartlepool yesterday.
