FRAMES PER SECOND

FPS is a key factor in impacting its smoothness and overall viewing or gaming experience. But what is FPS exactly, and why does it matter so much? Let’s explore this fundamental concept in more detail.

WHAT IS FPS?

Frames Per Second (FPS) refers to the number of individual frames or images displayed in one second of video or animation. Think of it like a flipbook animation: each page is a still image, but when you flip through them quickly, the images appear to move. This same idea applies to digital media. The more frames there are in each second, the smoother the motion will appear.

For example, a video running at 30 FPS means 30 images are shown every second, while a game running at 60 FPS displays 60 images per second. The higher the FPS, the more fluid and lifelike the motion appears.

WHERE IS FPS USED?

Frames per second (FPS) is a crucial metric in video production and gaming, although its usage varies slightly depending on the context.
