Xiaomi is known for delivering value-for-money products and has built a reputation in the smartphone market. It’s clear that they’re trying to replicate that success in the tablet arena. Will Xiaomi dominate the tablet segment just like they did with the smartphone? Let’s find out.
BUILD & DISPLAY
Upon unboxing the Redmi Pad Pro 5G, its sleek aluminum alloy body with a matte finish immediately stands out. At just 7.5mm thick and weighing 566 grams, it’s thin and lightweight, providing comfort during extended use. The 12.1-inch display boasts a 2.5K resolution with a 120Hz refresh rate and supports Dolby Vision, offering vibrant colors and deep blacks. The high pixel density ensures sharp text and crisp images, contributing to a great viewing experience. With a brightness of 600 nits and minimal bezels, it performs well in various lighting conditions.
PERFORMANCE
The Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 in the Redmi Pad Pro 5G delivers powerful performance and impressive battery life. With ample RAM and well-optimized Xiaomi HyperOS software, day-to-day tasks and app usage are seamless. The tablet’s 5G capabilities ensure fast internet speeds for high-definition streaming, video conferencing, and large file downloads. Gaming on the Redmi Pad Pro 5G is smooth, thanks to the Adreno GPU and high refresh rate display. The tablet’s thermal management keeps it cool even during extended gaming sessions.
In our Geekbench 6 tests, the tablet scored 1033 in the single-core CPU test and 3008 in the multi-core CPU test. In the GPU test, it achieved a score of 1776. The Redmi Pad Pro 5G is equipped with 8-megapixel rear and front cameras, suitable for document photos and casual shots. While the picture quality isn’t top-tier, the front camera works well for video calls and occasional selfies.
