From an early age, Julianne Hough's life has always been about movement, but when the triple threat was faced with divorce and the death of her dogs, everything stopped in its tracks.

"I didn't want to dance anymore," the Dancing With the Stars alum admits to FIRST. "My body wasn't in shape, and I didn't want to move." But Julianne reminded herself of something key that got her back on her feet: "It's not about what you don't have, but what's possible." These days, she's reveling in turning possibilities into realities, having launched Kinrgy, a program that includes dance cardio, fitness, mindful movement, meditation and sound healing. She's also cowritten a novel, Everything We Never Knew, which draws on her life experiences. "My hope is that my experiences can be an inspiration to others," the 36-year-old says. "I'm trying to put goodness out into the world—that's what it's all about." Here, Julianne's tips for focusing on staying positive, healthy and always moving forward—no matter what comes your way.

Mini getaways "I love to travel, and it doesn't mean I have to go somewhere far away," Julianne shares. "I live in L.A., and I can just take a 45-minute drive to walk on the beach. Getting a change of scenery, getting out in nature and feeling the Earth under my feet...it brings you back to reality and humility. I'm like, 'Wow, there's so much beauty in the world!""
