'Diana would be DEVASTATED by the ugly rift between her sons'

I knew the Princess of Wales. And I knew how much she loved her sons: there were photos of them all around her home at Kensington Palace, and she fussed and worried about them like any doting parent. I’m also certain that Prince Charles loves them both just as much.

If Diana were alive today, she would be devastated by the ugly rift between Prince William and Prince Harry. And she would have moved heaven and earth to try to make them rekindle the close, brotherly relationship they had until just a few years ago.

Every parent can surely imagine the heartache when, after nurturing two children in a bubble of love – even when a marriage is in trouble – siblings rupture that bubble and sever the bonds that tie them. It is something that Diana did not live to see, which is perhaps some small solace for her premature death.
