If Channel 5's Cast Away was anything to go by, Phillip Schofield appeared hopeful that his TV demise could be turned around. But it didn't go quite as planned. Instead, the show only pulled in 1.4 million viewers, with PR expert Dermot McNamara telling Woman, 'The channel were expecting 3 million, so it's far below the anticipated rating.' And fans were quick to blast Phil, 62, with one branding him 'a pathetic little man'. Another said, 'Phillip Schofield at best should just disappear and do his thing.' While a third added, 'Phillip Schofield is the architect of his own downfall. What an obnoxious and smug person he is.' Hitting back at the criticism, Phillip said, 'the haters can kiss my a**se'.
But two people who may arguably be glad to witness his fall from grace are former friend Holly Willoughby and outspoken rival Eamonn Holmes.
While Eamonn has publicly bashed Phil, branding him 'addicted to fame', Holly is back on the circuit after taking months out of the spotlight, suggesting she could be ready to talk.
