Seasoned presenter Craig Doyle became an instant hit when he joined Alison Hammond to co-host ITV’s daytime flagship This Morning for two days earlier this year, so it’s little wonder the 51-year-old has been invited back for more this summer. The dad-of-four has stepped into pole position while the show’s regular presenters take some time off, so Woman caught up with the star to chat about his future on the show, what he makes of being a heart-throb and why he loves working with Josie Gibson.
Your summer is off to a flying start, presenting on This Morning. How does it feel to be on the show?
I’m really excited but I’m also relaxed about it. It feels very familiar because I’ve known everyone there for a long time. I’ve just been around the edges of ITV for so many years, doing various bits and bobs, and we’ve all watched This Morning for so many years, so the first day I walked into the studio I felt like I’d stepped inside of my TV.
You watched Love Island for the first time this year. What did you like about it?
