Woman caught up with TV presenter Julia Bradbury to chat about her health, her showbiz pals and learning to love her body

My children KEEP ME GOING

Former Countryfile star Julia was diagnosed with breast cancer in September 2021. While she admits she thinks herself 'lucky' that she didn't have to have chemotherapy, in October that year Julia, now 53, underwent a single mastectomy, where a 6cm tumour was removed, before having reconstructive surgery.

Two years on, after re-evaluating and overhauling her life, Julia - who shares son Zeph and twin girls Zena and Xanthe with her husband Gerard Cunningham - fills us in on how she's feeling now and getting to grips with her new lifestyle.

Hi Julia, how are you?

I'm in a happy place. Some days I feel better than others but at the moment I'm sitting here positively healthy. I don't think anyone has the all-clear when it comes to their health, it's up to us to maintain it. My energy levels are definitely not what they used to be pre my diagnosis. I think that's partly to do with the stress of getting over the trauma and partly to do with getting older.

You've been through a lot over the past few years but you're still so positive, how do you do it?

My children keep me going, the desire and wish to see my children grow up is my biggest motivator - I want to live for at least another 25 years.
