During my tenure as a school counsellor, the two most common issues brought up by students to my office were 'lack of confidence' and 'anger management'. I could easily grasp the importance of both (in fact, for adults and kids alike) but it took me a while to devise customised solutions.
In any case, somehow, I am naturally and thankfully bestowed with a normal amount of both a confident and a calm personality; both got augmented and encouraged via my upbringing and experiences.
But indeed, it is worth mentioning that these virtues and skills don't come automatically to everyone.
The bad news is that if one doesn't consciously invest in and hone them, the lack of confidence and growing anger issues become a vicious cycle, that is, the more these lacunae get embedded into our personality and/ or exhibited publicly, the more difficult it becomes to overcome them.
The good news is that confidence and staying calm can be learnt and developed. The sooner one begins, the better.
In the context of confidence, know that everyone brings their unique gifts to the table.
