In the heart of Delhi NCR, a movement is underway that is as vibrant as the textiles it repurposes and as resilient as the women it empowers. Project Aradhaga, an initiative by Enactus Ramjas since 2012, is not just about creating fashionable accessories from upcycled fabric; it's a testament to the power of sustainable action and social entrepreneurship.
The fashion industry is notorious for generating significant amount of waste, with fast fashion exacerbating the problem. This rapid turnover of cheaply produced garments contributes to overflowing landfills, pollution of waterways, and exploitation of labour. To address these prevailing issues, Enactus Ramjas initiated Project Aradhaga, it focuses on the textile upcycling avenue to put the seal on sustainability and style.
We transform discarded clothing into stylish accessories, catering perfectly to our environmentally conscious customers.
Beyond the environmental impact, Aradhaga's core strength lies in its community of beneficiaries, who are underprivileged women from the Delhi NCR region. For more than 11 years, these women have been the driving force behind the project, mastering skills such as sewing, knitting, and weaving. Through their empowerment, they are paving the way for a brighter future for themselves and their families, enabling them to earn a sustainable livelihood and improve their quality of life.
Aradhaga stands out for its deep connection with its beneficiaries. It's a relationship that transcends the technicalities of social entrepreneurship, providing the project with meaning and depth. We aim to help our beneficiaries in becoming economically independent and educated by conducting various awareness sessions about the importance of mental health, financial literacy, menstrual hygiene and many more.
