SINCE THE COVID-19 pandemic struck the world, our lives and everything about them have changed forever. We don’t live our lives the way we used to. We have adopted the new normal and new modes like ‘work-from-home’ and ‘study-from-home’.
Asus, a Taiwan-based multinational computer hardware and consumer electronics company, saw an opportunity in this vastly altered “new normal” and launched its ‘made for kids’ BR1100 laptop series in India in April this year.
But is this laptop made only for students? Or can the Asus BR1100F laptop be used by working professionals too? Let’s take a close look at its features. The Asus BR1100F is a two-in-one convertible laptop and tablet in the BR1100 series. It has been made keeping in mind the needs of students, who attend online classes and study from home. The laptop is priced at Rs 29,999, making it budget friendly and super affordable.
Design and Screen
Being marketed as a laptop for students, the product comes in dual tone grey, instead of the bright colour options that attract youngsters. On the top, the laptop gets a 3D texture in dark grey that provides a good grip when holding it. On the edge, you can notice the rubber bumpers that provide extra protection in case the laptop falls.
Once you open the lid, you will notice the 11.6inch IPS LCD display with touchscreen and thick bezels around the corner. The bezels in between the screen and frame appear more 1990’s and makes the screen size look small. The manufacturer may have used this option as a means of cutting costs.
