The dreamer who brings visions to life takes us on her personal trip within the event-planning realm and shares the secrets of throwing a spectacular soirée
To say that Delhi-born, Dubai-bred Mallika Singh relishes a challenge is an understatement. When putting together a perfect party, special soirée or even a gravity-defying pop-up, this entertainment specialist is singularly focused upon achieving the unexpected and conjuring up the inconceivable. If you have an idea, this 32-year-old will find a way of bringing it to fruition.
From construction-themed bashes to a Mad Hatter’s garden party and futuristic fancy to a floral confection – she’s turned her hand to everything and delivered with aplomb. We meet the confident party queen and business management graduate who is bringing big-budget dreams to life.
Who inspires you?
“My mother. Being the rock of the family, she always strikes the perfect balance between being a daughter, a wife, a mother and an entrepreneur. She has taught me to take in the beauty around me whenever I can, no matter how overwhelming things may be at times. She has always supported every dream, big or small, and encouraged me to pursue it.”
What inspires you?
“Watching my clients and their guests emotionally engage with the spaces we transform is what inspires me and what I tirelessly work towards. I’m a slave to detail and when guests leave a wedding teary-eyed, or a birthday party that has them rolling on the floor with laughter, it’s in that moment I know all that hard work was worth it. That’s when I can finally take a seat and heave a tiny sigh of satisfaction.”
WORK
When did you get your big break?
“I started with small family gatherings but it has been a continuous process and my business and I have evolved over a period of time. Each event has been a learning experience and has helped me deliver what I do today.”
