Karl Benz(November 25,1844-April 4,1929) was born in Mulhburg in Germany to Josephine Vaillant and Johann George Benz, a locomotive driver.

Karl Benz studied mechanical engineering at University of Karlsruhe and went on to work in a various jobs including a draftsman in a scales factory and in an iron construction company.

Finally Karl Benz and his wife Bertha Ringer bought a factory all for themselves where Karl Benz was able to experiment on a variety of inventions including what he had always wanted to do- find a vehicle that could replace the horse drawn carriage that people were using during his period. Karl Benz successfully created a petrol two-stroke engine, along with a speed regulation system, spark plug, carburetor, clutch, and gear shift and water radiator.
