Winters are coming knocking on our doors…. hence, it is time to sit up and think of some game plan or another to winter proof our pancake. Everyone knows that during this time of the year, our skin becomes dry, dehydrated and flaky. Whatever one may do to counter this, our outer layer usually loses at least a bit of its sheen. The sure shot home remedy to beat the day is to drink lots and lots of water. During summers, this is a bit simple……..one is hot and bothered all the time and consuming several glasses of water even all at once is no problem. But, during winters, this is somewhat of an issue. Drinking lots of water is not that easy. Hence, one has to think up of other solutions to this malaise. For one, one can try using a mild exfoliant about once in seven days and then lather in some moisturizer while the skin is still somewhat a bit wet. Or else, one can bring in some change into the cleansing ritual we follow. In place of making use of a foamy or a gel-based lotion, try using a milky or a creamy one. These will provide a bit more of a protective cover to the skin since the quotient of detergents in them is a little limited. Rub them in gently into the folds of the skin and then do away with them with a face tissue or with cotton pads. You can even go in for a humidifier to reduce the effect of dryness in the air surrounding you at home or in the office.
