What have you worked on recently?

Currently, we’re still planning for a show in midyear.

The most memorable runway project I took part in would be in 2017 for Top Hair International. Top Hair International is the leading trade fair and one of the biggest in Europe for the hair cosmetic industry. It was an honour for me as I was invited by Mario Krankl as his guest artist and Mario's segment was the main show for that year.

It was an unforgettable moment. That time, I was the only Asian performing artist who had the chance to share the same stage with a lot of hair masters from all around the world. During those few days (from preparation days to rehearsal days to the actual show), their attitude and their passion towards hair really impressed me. The whole process gave me more strength to continue doing what I like to do.

What are the current trends?

80's vibe is in trend currently. Blunt cuts, shaggy bangs, and mullets are very popular nowadays, not just on runways but everywhere. Bold, big dramatic hairs are playing strong on runways – ranging from super high ponytails to the voluminous gravity-defying blowout, to the sky-high pompadour updo. It's all about couture hair.

How do you update yourself on current trends?

I update myself through social media where I search for the latest trend. Social media is one of the most used platforms for instant news these days. Most of the time, after I got to know the new trends from social media, I would self-learn and attempt to recreate the work with some of my own added elements.

What is the next big thing for hair in 2019?

The androgynous crop will be the next big thing because the female empowerment movement is going strong lately and super short hair is used to showcase girl power.

Summer Hair Care

Summer Hair Care

Just as the sun damages your skin, it can damage your hair too. Saltwater and chlorine also take a toll on our tresses. A few weeks into summer, hair that was once shiny and easily managed looks and feels fried. Hair damage is most obvious when we see colourtreated hair becoming faded, bleached, and brassy. Even hair that isn't coloured will suffer from suninduced stress. Those UV rays dry out hair and rough up the normally smooth cuticle of the hair shaft.
