How would you describe your style?
It’s pretty minimal, relaxed, practical… but I don’t know if I like that [word], practical. It’s not like I wear overalls every day! [My style] is just easy to live in and comfortable. It’s also a little bit more unisex; I don’t wear anything super girlie.
Have you always felt comfortable dressing this way?
It’s come with age. I used to be a stylist [for Yen magazine], so I’d try different trends or do things that probably didn’t suit me or my body type. I think it’s just getting older and growing into yourself.
How long have you been settled in your current look?
Probably since starting my own business [In Bed, in 2013] and not really styling anymore or thinking about fashion as much. I think when you’re a stylist, it’s so much of who you are and what you do; you’re looking at trends and things on the runway and wanting to try new things out, whereas now I just want my wardrobe to work for me [and] my lifestyle. Now I have a smaller wardrobe, which I like because it’s not confusing or overwhelming. It’s just things that I love and wear all the time.
What’s your go-to look?
Probably jeans or trousers and a shirt— either a linen shirt or cotton shirt that’s a little bit oversized—and sneakers or sandals—always flats. If I do have external meetings, I’ll make a bit more of an effort to not be as casual.
What would you wear in that case?
