When we talk about suits we don’t just talk about clothes, we talk about precision, patience and a powerful energy that can only come from a perfectly tailored suit. What was once clothing for businessmen has since evolved into a must-have for women. From strictly clean lines it has also progressed into different permeations; from cropped looks to hybrids that push the style forward. One of the young Asian minds who are experimenting with the suit is Dickson Lim.
Growing up in Kuching, Sarawak in Malaysia fashion was strictly all about style that was easy and practical. But Lim had a different idea of fashion where creativity reigns. His first love, sneakers. “My love for fashion began with sneakers when I was in high school. It then evolved into clothes through the years. I always found the boundless creativity designers use to create garments I admire on social media to be so fascinating but I could not afford them. I took this as a challenge and realized that I can do it too. I should design clothes for myself which are not widely available in the market yet still has that high fashion vibe since it was the same direction luxury brands are taking” he shared.
