Are you struggling to lose weight? It could be because you’re not getting enough vitamin D. ‘Research suggests that when vitamin D levels are low, your body produces less leptin, the appetite suppressing hormone,’ says nutritionist Rob Hobson, who worked on Jackie Wickes’ Cheats & Eats (£9.99, Healthspan). ‘This makes it harder to lose weight.’
In summer, our bodies make vitamin D, via sunlight on our skin. But in winter this is trickier. ‘You can’t get all your vitamin D needs met from food,’ says Rob. ‘But combined with supplements, this diet will enhance health and help you lose weight.’
